Lone or vulnerable workers are people who work on their own or work with others but in vulnerable and/or potentially threatening situations, for example this could include Bailiffs, Enforcement Officers, Hotel Reception staff, `home visit` nursing staff and Council employees.

Under the Health and Safety Act 1974, Employers have a `duty of care` to provide a safe working environment for their employees.

At Securi-Guard Monitoring we monitor state of art detection devices for lone or vulnerable workers. All devices work on a principle solution that a worker can be located by Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) and then tracked, once activated. Communication with the worker can take place through GSM/SMS.

The type of lone worker monitoring recommended will depend upon your requirements. For example, some clients may just require their employees to contact us before and after they go into certain environments, or we may monitor a device that either requires the SOS function to be manually activated or activates through a tilt switch or motion detector.

On receipt of activation, Securi-Guard Monitoring are able to track the lone workers location via GPS, the position is then displayed on a map but also allows us to track the worker if they move location. At the same time, the device opens a two-way communication channel allowing our Operators to hear and talk to the lone worker (and vice versa) through the device. Where necessary, the device can automatically notify nominated contacts such as the Alarm Receiving Centre and/or the emergency services. Securi-Guard is then able to work with the emergency services supplying the grid, map or latitude/longitude reference of the lone workers location to assist in a quick response/rescue.

All lone worker devices monitored by Securi-Guard use existing mobile network infrastructures, they are easy to operate and can be used as two way communication devices, allowing the lone worker to use the device to make/recieve calls. The device can also recieve text messages from any service or mobile telephone.
