Securi-Guard Monitoring’s state of the art Gold industry standard Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Staff marked the event in style with a special anniversary cake made by Chloe Bickford, the grand daughter of Kim Precious, Managing Director – Securi-Guard Monitoring.

The ARC – one of the largest receiving centres of its kind in the UK – lies at the heart of the company’s wide range of fire and security monitoring services for clients in this country and across Europe.

Securi-Guard’s team of operators utilise the very latest technology and signalling systems to monitor fire and intruder alarms, CCTV, as well as the tracking of vehicles and lone/vulnerable workers.

The company’s monitoring division is celebrating the landmark with the launch of a brand new website, www.securi-guardmonitoring.co.uk which capitalises on the latest, mobile friendly web technology to better showcase its range of services.

Kim Precious said the new web presence strongly reflected the company’s status as a modern, forward thinking business dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

“The 20 year celebrations of the ARC provided the perfect opportunity to give our website a major overhaul to ensure it is fit for purpose as digital technology continues to develop at a rapid pace,” said Kim.

“Technological advances have also been very swift in our own industry. We have seen some remarkable developments in monitoring equipment and services during the lifetime of the ARC and I am certain there will be many more to come in the next 20 years – and beyond.”

National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold CAT ll accredited, the ARC – which is based at the company’s headquarters in Estover, Plymouth –  has come a long way since it was first launched in January 1997.

From an initial staff of six operators, the monitoring team has grown to more than 60 employees and has helped to make Securi-Guard one of the largest independent fire and security specialists in the United Kingdom.

In the last two decades, the ARC has gone from strength to strength with the award of a series of industry accreditation’s that have reinforced Securi-Guard’s reputation as one of the UK’s foremost monitoring companies.

The ARC’s accreditations also include NSI Gold Approved Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC) Thatcham Approved CAT5/NSI Gold Systems Operating Centre (SOC) and NSI Gold British Standard 8484 Lone Worker Monitoring Centre.

2011 saw another major development with the launch of Securi-Track, which works with approved security firms in 16 European countries to provide a European Police Response Service to incidents of vehicle theft and hijacking abroad.

A year later, as part of the 15th anniversary of the ARC, a major refurbishment was carried out so all admin and monitoring staff could be housed in one building. The very latest technology was also installed to ensure the ARC was operating at an optimum level.
